Restoring joy and pleasure as your birthright through the experience of transformational art.

AuDHD, Queer multidisciplinary artist located in the heart of Portland OR.

Frankie Oakes was born and raised in Portland OR, and whose creativity blossomed at an early age. Raised in a nurturing environment at the Portland Waldorf School, Frankie learned to knit before she could read, and her love for artistic expression only grew from there. In her youth, painting provided an emotional sanctuary, offering her a means to cope with and make sense of a challenging home life.

Frankie is an artist whose work is shaped by a deep connection to the Earth, spirituality, and personal growth. At 17, she aspired to become a tattoo artist, but her path shifted after encountering the misogyny prevalent in the industry. Instead, Frankie pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Painting at Portland State University, along with a minor in Environmental Sustainability.

Frankie continued her post graduate studies at Free Columbia, delving into the spiritual and emotional aspects of color. In 2013, she began tattooing, merging her passion for abstract painting with the human form. With a keen eye for beauty, she creates striking, deeply personal tattoos that bridge fine art and tradition.

Today, she draws upon her own experiences with recovery from disordered eating, sobriety, and a late AuDHD diagnosis to guide others in cultivating joy and pleasure in their own lives.

Her work spans multiple mediums. Current offerings include tattooing, original paintings, fine art prints, and interior murals. Frankie’s art and personal journey serve as a testament to the transformative power of self-expression and healing.

Frankie is amazing! I love my new tattoo and the whole experience was lovely. I’m already thinking about what to get next. 😍
